Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey

2006 BENTLEY AZURE
Registration No: HF56 FXD
Chassis No:  SCBDC43H86CH11573

The Bentley Azure was launched in 1995 and based on the platform of the Continental R coupé which had been launched in 1991. Volkswagen purchased Bentley from Vickers in 1998, three years into production of the Mk.I model. Volkswagen executives decided to keep the then-current Azure in production until 2003. Production of the new Azure began for the 2006 model year. Now based on the Arnage platform, power came from the then current variant of the Bentley turbocharged V8 making 450hp and 645 lb ft of torque. New Arnage was designed for the BMW 4.4-litre engine. However, due to strained relationships between the two manufacturers, Volkswagen was forced to significantly re-work the original 6.75-litre Rolls-Royce/Bentley V8 engine in 2001, including a switch from the old single-turbo system to a modern twin-turbocharger setup, reducing turbo-lag and increasing horsepower output. A new, model-specific six-speed automatic transmission fed power to the rear wheels. Bentley claimed a 0 to 60 time of 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 168 mph, slightly faster than the previous edition and still very good for a vehicle of this size and weight.
This 2006 Bentley Azure was supplied new by Bramshaw Bentley Hampshire in Lyndhurst, New Forest. Registered in September 2006, the car received a personalised number plate of 22 TB in November of the same year which it retained until the vendor acquired the car in 2013. This Azure has only covered just over 28,000 miles from new which is confirmed by the service book and the MoT history. Finished in black with black roof and black Connolly leather interior complemented with piano black veneers, this lovely Convertible is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in March 2019 and the service book pack. The Bentley Azure is a Grand Tourer offering enormous style and luxury, whether you are going to the shops or travelling to the Côte d’Azur, this low mileage Bentley Azure is just about the perfect vehicle.

1964 JAGUAR MkX
Registration No: CBU 157B
Chassis No: 308106BW

The Jaguar MK X's new style, four headlamps set into rounded front wings with a vaned grill, first appeared in 1961. From its introduction in mid-October 1961 the Mark X was the first Jaguar saloon to feature independent rear suspension. The car initially featured a 3,781 cc version of Jaguar's XK in-line six-cylinder engine, but for the London Motor Show in October 1964 the enlarged 4,235 cc unit took over. Triple SU carburettors were fitted, and transmission options were manual or automatic.

The arrival of the 4.2-litre power unit coincided with the introduction of a newly developed all-synchromesh four-speed gear box. Many domestic market cars and almost all export cars left the factory with a Borg Warner automatic gear-box. The 4.2-litre engine's introduction was also marked by a transmission upgrade for the automatic cars, which saw an upgrade of the Borg Warner transmission from a DG to a Type-8 unit. The power train was completed by a Thornton Powr-Lok limited-slip differential. Stopping power for this heavy car came from power-assisted disc-brakes on all four wheels. Power-assisted steering was standard on all the later 4.2 cars.

This Jaguar MKX 3.8 is a garage find with genuine 69,000 miles on the clock. The son of the registered keeper has advised that, to his knowledge, his father owned the car from a year old or possibly even new. It comes with the original book pack, service book (which is well documented), and boxes of various bills and history for work that he has carried out on the car in the last 50 years of ownership. It was last MOT'd from 2014 to 2015 when it was said to be running very well. With a little bit of attention there is no reason why it shouldn't fire up again.

Note: This description is provided by the vendor and unless otherwise stated is 'Not Verified' by Barons or any person employed by Barons. Prospective purchasers are advised to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any statements made, whether they be statements of fact or opinion.
