The Capri was a two-door coupé verssaloon made by Ford of Britain. The Ford Classic was a result of four years of development with approval for the project given in Autumn 1956. The styling of the car was the last project undertaken by Colin Neale before he left Dagenham for Dearborn. The initial design requirement was for the Ford Classic to be a full range model to take Ford into the new decade, Ford even developed a full-size estate prototype. The Capri Project was code named 'Sunbird' and took design elements from the Ford Thunderbird and the Ford Galaxie Sunliner. It was instigated by Sir Horace Denne, Ford's Sales Director, he wanted a 'co-respondent's' car to add glamour to the product line. In its September announcement, the Capri was for export only but went on sale to the domestic British market in January 1962. The bodies were sub-assembled by Pressed Steel Fisher with only final assembly taking place at Dagenham in Essex. It was intended as part of the Ford Classic range of cars but the body was complex and expensive to produce. The Ford Classic was made from 1961 to 1963, and replaced by the Cortina-derived Ford Corsair.

Originally registered on 1st January, 1963, this Ford Capri presents in excellent order throughout. The white coachwork is unmarked showing no sign of corrosion and the red interior is superb, the vendor has had the front seats trimmed in leather for additional comfort. The 1499cc engine started 'on the button' and ran very well, the pre-cross flow design of these Ford units is supremely simple yet efficient and reliable. A remote gear lever has been fitted improving the ergonomics and we are advised this Capri drives with no known faults. The underside of 3706 UP is remarkable and, taking into account this car is 53 years old, she has obviously been well cared for throughout. The design of these stylish Fords is a cross pollination between British and American influence, the four round headlamps, pillarless coupé and rear fins, together with an enormous boot all contribute to making this a design classic. Supplied with a history folder, a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 29th October 2017, this Capri is exceedingly rare. An example such as this will therefore represent a prudent opportunity given today's active market for classic Fords.ion of the Ford Classic

The Ford Consul was manufactured by Ford UK from 1951 to 1962 and was the four-cylinder base model of the three-model Ford Zephyr range, comprising Consul, Zephyr and Zephyr Zodiac. In 1962, the line was restyled and the Consul was replaced by the Zephyr 4. At this point the Consul became a range of smaller cars in its own right, initially the Consul Classic and Consul Capri. This unique Ford Consul Convertible has been derived from a Classic Consul - the floor has been strengthened with the chassis being tied and approved. The car is supplied with a V5 document and is DVLA approved.
First registered on the 25th September 1962, this car has been fully restored in 2009 and kept in a heated facility for many years, never seeing rain or moist weather in 25 years - completing 11,000 miles since fitting the V4 Ford Corsair engine and Sierra five speed gearbox. The leather interior is as new. The car has a very large and detailed history file and comes with an MoT test certificate valid until February 2018 and has had only four owners from new. A brief hand-written history accompanies the car which details the engine and gearbox rebuilt in January 1998 and, in 2009, the car underwent a complete rebuild. In 1997 the mileage was recorded at 91,274 miles and recorded almost every year since and has covered some 16,502 miles in approximately 20 years. A truly unique example.

1979 RENAULT ALPINE A310 FLEISCHMANN GR4

Registration: FNC 169T
Chassis Number: A31045788
Engine Number: 7910246149
Number of cylinders: 6
CC: 2664
Year of Manufacture: 1979
Estimate (£): 22,000 - 25,000

The Alpine A110 Berlinette was launched in 1963 and soon became a legend in the rallying fraternity through its numerous successes, culminating in a European Rally Championship title with Alpine driver Jean-Claude Andruet at the wheel. By the late Sixties, Alpine’s competition record hadn’t gone unnoticed and they were eventually allocated Renault’s full competition budget, effectively becoming the 'motorsport department' for the French manufacturer. This close collaboration eventually led to Renault buying Alpine in 1973.

The follow-on act to the A110 was launched in 1971 with the Renault Alpine A310, featuring a four-cylinder, 1600cc Gordini engine. In 1976 the model was updated to accept a more powerful 2.7-litre V6 engine producing 150bhp. Weighing just 980kg and housing this improved power plant meant that the A310 was capable of almost 140mph. Like its predecessor, the A310 managed to replicate more competition success as a Group 4 rally entrant, eventually taking Guy Fréquelin to the French Rally Championship crown in 1977.

To emulate the look of the Group 4 Alpine A310’s, German-based firm, 'Fleischmann Tuning', began offering tuning parts and body kits for road customers to be able to upgrade their cars. These upgrades were rare and much sought after.
This particular left-hand drive example was registered new in Germany in 1979 and remained in a private collection for much of its time there. Finished in red with a black cloth interior, the car is in superb condition throughout, and sports the Fleischmann A310 'Group 4' body. Correct, series one, three-stud 'Gotti' deep-dish wheels complete the look.

Now showing an unwarranted, but believed to be correct mileage of just over 39,500 miles, this car is thought to be the only one of its kind currently residing in the UK. Supplied with an MOT until August ’17, a UK V5c, past invoices, its original handbook, and the workshop manual. This Renault Alpine A310 is a rather special little coupé, very rare with distinctive looks, attractive but purposeful, rather like a French athlete in a German suit. We don't think it will be very long before it finds a new home.

1930 FORD MODEL A TUDOR

Registration: SV8544
Chassis Number: 3754798
Engine Number: AA832889
CC: 3285
Year of Manufacture: 1930
Estimate (£): 16,000 - 18,000

The Model 'T' survived far longer than it should have done because Henry Ford thought all a car needs to do is get you from A to B. No frills, no thrills. In the early twenties, he had declared that the “T had reached perfection and that there would probably never be any need to change its design”. The decision to change the model, partly to pacify his son Edsel, was made even more significant in that the mass production methods used in the T’s manufacture meant that the whole production line had to be changed, a feat which took almost exactly a year. With thorough planning and programmes to keep the dealers on board, Ford managed to keep it all together without any cars leaving the famous Highland plant during that change-over year. When it did arrive, the all new 'A' Model was worth the wait, with the market clamouring to get their hands on this exciting new car.

Taking Ford overnight from 'country cousin' to 'country club', the Model A had a cachet lacking in the workhorse Model T and suddenly film stars and presidents were happy to pose next to one. Longer, lower and better suspended than its predecessor, it was powered by a Howard Hicks-designed, 3,285cc, L-head four-cylinder engine developing 40bhp (twice the Model T's output) and boasted coil ignition and an integral water pump. Mated to a three-speed manual gearbox, 30mpg was achievable and with a top speed of 65mph, four-wheel drum brakes became a necessity.  The vehicle was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls, with conventional brake and clutch pedals, throttle and gearchange.

Produced from December 1927, it was available in four standard colours, but not black and a range of body styles was offered, including saloons, tourers, coupés and light trucks. When production finally ceased in 1931, over 4.3 million had been sold in no fewer than 22 different styles.

This stunning, left-hand drive Tudor model has been the subject of a comprehensive 'nut and bolt' restoration and has only been used a few times in the summer since completion, as can be seen by the photographs of the underneath of the car. The vendor has owned the car for a number of years and it has been part of his private collection. The car must surely be one of the finest Model "A"'s in the country. I was lucky enough to own a prize-winning, Model 'A' Tudor that had been restored in New Zealand and it was much admired, however, this car here is certainly the equal of it.

Superbly finished in Maroon with Black wings and running boards, a Black textured roof, good chrome, a Cream coach line, and Cream wire wheels with Whitewall tyres, the overall effect is delightful. The interior is equally impressive with well cut Grey cloth door cards, Salmon Pink woven cloth seat covers, and a new headlining. Mechanically these cars are very reliable with an ample supply of parts and decent electrics (particularly if converted to 12volts), however, SV8544 appears to have benefited mechanically from the recent restoration and should behave well. The vendor states that “the car always starts on the button and is a pleasure to drive”.
Model 'A's are great starter classics, cheap to run, reliable, well supported, and always welcomed by the friendly owner's club, and one in this condition, offered at a sensible guide, will definitely appeal

in Ford Motor Company's long and hugely successful history, few events are as memorable and as important as the GT40's four consecutive overall victories at Le Mans. The impetus to build Le Mans cars to compete with Ferrari undoubtedly stemmed from their failed attempt to acquire the Modena firm, and an understandably frustrated Ford enlisted Carroll Shelby and others to build a racing car with one mission: to beat Ferrari at Le Mans. With their goals set high, the GT40 became the most iconic and successful underdog in Le Mans history.

Arriving in prototype form just in time for Ford's centennial celebration in 2003, the new Ford GT borrowed heavily from the stunning design and profile of the GT40 and set out on a similar mission: to compete with, and surpass, the established 'supercars'.
The ultra-high performance Ford GT showcases the finest in advanced technologies, constructed on a lightweight aluminum chassis clothed in superplastic-formed lightweight composite and aluminum body panels. Powered by a mid-mounted, hand-built, supercharged quad-cam 550bhp V8 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transaxle and featuring racing-derived suspension and braking systems, the GT delivers astounding power and performance.

0-60 in about 3.5 seconds, hurtling on to some 205mph before the speed limiter kicks in. When production ceased in 2006, with just over 4,000 Ford GTs produced and only 101 delivered new to Europe, this epic Ford had made its mark on automotive history once again - and became an instant collector's car.
This very special Ford GT was one of five European supplied vehicles that were marked VIP by the Ford National Sales Company. Ford of Britain then allocated this vehicle to F1 world champion Jenson Button, MBE in May 2005, and he took delivery through Swiss Ford GT dealer Grimm in Geneva in August 2005. The car was first UK registered in 2006 and supplied with the history file are copies of the order form signed by Mr.Button.

Purchased by our vendor in 2011, this Ford GT is finished in the evocative colour combination of white with blue racing stripes. Reading 8,350 miles, the service history consists of stamps and invoices from 'Mountune' and two services by Ford GT experts 'GT101'. Prior to the auction it will be delivered to GT101 for a fresh service and check over. Prospective bidders are welcome to contact the office to arrange early viewings on this incredibly special car.
The Ford GT is part of a rare class of modern cars that instantly become collectable, and have become more and more sought after. Given its inimitable heritage, prolific performance, stunning design, and thrilling driving experience, the Ford GT is a very special creation that will undoubtedly be revered for many years to come.
