The Jaguar Mk. II was a medium-sized saloon built from 1959 to 1969 as a successor to the 2.4 and 3.4 litre models manufactured between 1957 and 1959. It was a handsome, powerful and good handling saloon that was offered with a choice of three six-cylinder twin-cam engines; 2.4 litre, 3.4 litre or 3.8 litre. After the appreciation of the Mk. I, Jaguar’s successor was well-received making a good car even better.  Similar in appearance, but with a bigger glass area, it boasted a wider track to improve road holding together with minor front suspension changes to reduce body roll and all-round disc rather than drum brakes. Raced by all the top drivers of the day including Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori and Michael Parkes, the Mk. II has scored victories throughout saloon car races in the sixties and was also raced across Europe in the Tour De France and Monte Carlo rally.

Originally registered on 17th June 1965, this 3.8-litre version of the Jaguar S-Type looks good in the classic colour combination of Old English White with red leather interior. This traditional look is enhanced with whitewall tyres. The interior of this S-Type has benefitted from being retrimmed at some point and displays the glorious walnut veneered dashboard and door cappings which is synonymous with classic Jaguars of this period. The S-Type was a popular car with police forces throughout the country due to its brisk performance and good road-holding models. This desirable manual gearbox example features an overdrive and when requested, the 3.8-litre engine fired into life. The vendor has invoices for a front brake, master cylinder and handbrake overhaul, engine service, re-sealing of the steering box, and carburettor overhaul. The rear subframe has also been out and new bushes fitted, both fuel tanks have been removed and overhauled, painted and weatherproofed. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, these handsome Jaguar’s always create interest when offered to the auction.

In response to the huge success of the Mini, Ford responded not with a small car but with a larger family offering which they could sell in large numbers. The result was the Cortina; a distinctively styled, mass-market compact car aimed at buyers of the Morris Oxford and Vauxhall Victor. It launched on 20th September 1962 and sold extremely well. It was produced in five generations (Mk. I through to Mk. V) although officially the last one was called the Cortina 80. With variants of the Cortina reaching sales of over one million and each successive model proving more popular than its predecessor, such was its fame in the UK that the BBC Two documentary series Arena once devoted an entire programme to the car and its enthusiasts. With eye-catching modern styling, it was originally branded as the Consul Cortina until a modest facelift in 1964, after which it was sold simply as the Cortina but with four trim levels; Standard, Deluxe, Super and GT.

Originally registered on 10th May 1966, this stylish Ford is one of approximately 50 Cortinas converted by Crayford into a convertible. The lines of the Mk. I lends itself to being a convertible and this example, with its blue coachwork and hood together with the contrasting red interior, is certainly aesthetically pleasing. The car fell into disrepair in the late ’80s and was sold in 1988 for £1,000 as a restoration project to Mr Paul Brench from Wiltshire who set about restoring the car. Presenting now in delightful condition, the interior benefits from having the additional dials from a GT and a remote gear lever. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 16th April 2021, this Cortina Mk. I Crayford is very rare and will certainly turn heads wherever she appears.

Introduced in 1936, the Clement-Talbot 10hp was promoted as 'Britain's most exclusive light car'. A product of the Rootes Group, the newcomer was based on a modified Hillman Aero Minx chassis. The Clement-Talbot and then the Sunbeam Motor Car Company businesses fell into the hands of Rootes in 1935 and the new owner's strategy was clearly to use the prestige of the Talbot name for selling larger numbers of lower priced cars. The Rootes' Talbot Ten was one of the first products of the Rootes strategy which intended to open Talbot's planned shift down-market and add a genuine small car to its proposed range. A star of the 1936 Motor Show, it was a lengthened Hillman Aero Minx with a stronger chassis that was updated at short notice by Talbot's Georges Roesch and rebadged, so adding another variant to the existing middle market saloon, the Hillman Minx.

Reviewers described the car as an attractive refined and well-equipped small car.

This lovely restored four-seater convertible sports tourer is offered with a fantastic amount of history which includes copies of the original promotional documents and a copy of the original, hand-written, factory ledger showing the car to have been delivered new in July 1936 to a Mr. Atkinson. Amazingly, the car has only had five owners throughout its 83 year life with the previous owner, a South Eastern former Talbot club organiser, having taken eight years to restore the car to its present glory. Whilst not totally original and sporting an upgraded Talbot 80 overhead valve engine with hydraulically assisted brakes, this wonderful example comes supplied with an original side valve engine that has been fully rebuilt and is ready to be fitted if desired. The car displays its original registration number, drives without fault and the engine is barely audible at tick over. The Whittingham and Mitchel body is in very good condition and the car presents very well in British Racing Green with brown interior, black hood and new tonneau cover. The car has been on several long driving trips, including to France and reportedly never skipped a beat. This Talbot Ten is supplied with a V5C registration document, original handbook, plenty of marque and model history, photographic restoration record, award trophies, a rebuilt side valve engine and even the copy of the original factory order ledger.

Interested parties should note that the registration CLT 57 is not included with the sale and has been put on retention by the owner. A new registration document is been processed by DVLA.
