  • Supplied with a Driver's Manual, a UK V5c, and MoT valid until 7th August 2019
Introduced in 1968 as a package for the ’69 model year, the Mach1 was a performance and styling enhancement to the standard Mustang. As the competition between 'Pony Car' manufacturers escalated, the Mustang’s engine bay was redesigned and evolved to accommodate even larger engine blocks. Late into 1968, the 428 cu.in. Cobra Jet FE engine was shoehorned into a range of GT Mustangs, but it was felt that to fully conjure up images of unimaginable performance, a new name would be necessary, hence the introduction of the 'Mach 1' (Speed of Sound) title. The original recipe was simple, a large engine, a ‘Sportsroof’ body with bonnet scoop in matt finish, better suspension, chromed petrol filler cap, revised wheels, a new ‘deluxe’ interior, and optional front and rear spoilers.
Offered here is a second generation, 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 finished in Diamond White over a Black interior. The V5c shows the car was first registered in the UK on 4th September ’73 and has had seven owners since, leading us to believe it has spent all its life in the UK. It would appear to have been repainted at some point as the bodywork and paint present very well indeed. Turn the key and the 5.8-litre V8 rumbles into life – the car even features a ‘loud button’ on the key fob – which when pressed activates the side exit exhaust if you really want to cause a stir! Not for 'shrinking violets'.
Offered with a 1973 Mustang Drivers Manual, a UK V5c and an MoT until 7th August 2019, this dramatic Mustang is in nice condition both inside and out, and at today’s estimate is a great way to join the Pony Club.
