The Morris 1100 was launched on 15 August 1962. The range was expanded to include several rebadged versions, including the twin-carburettor MG 1100 (introduced at the end of September 1962), the Austin 1100 (August 1963), the Vanden Plas Princess 1100 (October 1963) and finally the Wolseley 1100 (1965) and Riley Kestrel (1965). The Morris badged 1100/1300 models were discontinued on the launch of the Morris Marina in 1971, but the Austin and Vanden Plas versions remained in production in the UK until June 1974.

There are only 149 examples of the MG1100 known to still exist with the DVLA and this must be the best original one left. The mileage is warranted and it comes with the original bill of sale, as well as a copy of an article from a local newspaper dated March 1994, showing a picture of the car with the number plate visible, and its original owner with the article stating the mileage then as 21,000 miles.

Whilst it is now of course both tax and MOT exempt, it passed an MOT in December 2018 with no advisories. It drives very well with recent new tyres all round and comes with a copy of the AA handbook for 1966/67 in the glove box. The vendor states that is would make an ideal museum exhibit.

1983 Fiat X19 described by the vendor as a rare classic in very good condition. This car comes in what must surely be the best colour combination available, red over metallic charcoal with genuine gold alloys. This colour combination was only manufactured for one year, and with just twelve 1983 models left on the road, you are very unlikely to see another one like this. The car is 100% original except for one important detail, the earlier style bumpers have been retro-filled and powder coated by the previous owner at huge expense (well over £1,000). They look fantastic and this also saves a great deal of weight. In addition, the engine has been tuned by a specialist so that it has slightly more power and perhaps more importantly, it passes the emissions test every year.

The present owner has owned this car for 4 years and has covered just over 5,000 miles. The MOT was issued on 20 June 2018 with one advisory (tyre wear on one wheel). The vendor will supply the car to the auctioneer with 12 months MOT. The car looks great and drives superbly.

Recent work on the car includes braking system overhaul with lines bled and new hoses, new clutch and brake slave cylinders, new tyres, steering column overhaul, new side indicators and number plate lights, new exhaust, new battery, pop up lights mechanism overhaul, and driver’s door realignment.

With modest investments to address minor flaws to the bodywork and replace the electric window motors, this car could be brought to an excellent standard very cheaply. This lot includes £1,000 worth of spare parts (4 boxes), a spare ignition key (uncut), Haynes manual and full-service history file

1993 VOLVO 440XI

5-Door Hatchback

This Volvo 440 Xi 5 Door Hatchback is an affordable way to get into modern classics. This Volvo is described by the vendor as needing a little fettling and tidying up, but a running driving restoration. These are quite rare now and this example comes with only 84,000 miles recorded and an MOT until 6th March 2020. The car has been HPI checked clear. It is described as quite a clean little car, in blue-grey metallic, with the Xi rear spoiler and side stripe, all the rage on the early 90s cars, two-tone seats, power steering, heated front seats, but the stereo is missing.

The interior is in good condition but there is a small wear hole on the driver’s top part of the seat, but nothing much. The interior does need a clean but it is all there, carpets are good, headlining is good, the rear parcel shelf is in good condition and wind up windows which is a great thing. The exterior needs a good machine polish and there are some marks, a small area of rust on the bottom of the driver’s door, but no major dents. There are some rust bubbles at the bottom of the passenger door also, but overall it is a straight car. All the lights etc are in good condition and so is the glass. The car starts every time.

1962 ROVER P5 3.0 LITRE SALOON

The Rover P5 series were produced from 1958 until 1973. Marketed as the Rover 3 Litre, Rover 3.5 Litre and Rover 3½ Litre, 69,141 units were built. The P5 appeared in September 1958, as the 3-litre. It was powered by a 2995 cc engine. A Mark I-A, introduced in September 1961, featured a minor restyle, automatic transmission and hydrosteer variable ratio power steering became options.

The Mark II was introduced in 1962. It featured more power and improved suspension. The most notable addition to the range was the Coupé body style launched in 1962. Four doors were retained, but the roofline lowered by two and a half inches, and along with thinner B-pillars, gave the look of a hardtop.

The Mark III was introduced in 1965 and described at the time as "even more luxuriously trimmed and furnished". Available as a Coupé or Saloon. The Mark III engine now produced 134 bhp. Externally it could be distinguished by the full-length trim strip along the body and Mark III badging.

This vehicle formed part of a deceased estate and was garaged for many years, possibly as far back as 1997. The original buff log would indicate that the registration number displayed on the vehicle, is probably its original one, though potential buyers should check this themselves. Originally sold on 10 August 1962 to Rubin and Sons, Vyner Street, London, a famous shoe making company, and was ordered with the automatic gearbox. The vehicle comes with a folder of bills, and old MoTs, plus a workshop manual. There are also various boxes of parts, mainly wood sections and spare lights.

The car starts and drives extremely well, the headlining is in good condition, it's very presentable under the bonnet, the rear boot floor appears to be sound, as are the floors, and the doors shut nicely. It is recommended by the vendor that the brakes are checked before use, they work, just not very well! There has been a fair amount of work carried on this vehicle including to the underside there are pictures in a drop box of the underside of the car plus the door shuts, under the bonnet, and in the boot.

A rare car today, with low recorded mileage, a driving, moving project, for someone who appreciates these lovely old Rovers.
