1968 Daimler V8 250

Estimate: £8000 - £8500

A 1968 Daimler V8 250, registration number NDF 873F, chassis number P1K1529BW, engine number YK1157, opalescent silver blue. This Daimler saloon was originally supplied to a Miss C M Woodward from Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire by Regent Motors Ltd, Cheltenham. Miss Woodward retained the Daimler until 1977 when ownership passed to a Mr John Heeley, from Bournemouth, who in turn passed the ownership of the car to his wife Mildred in 1983. The Daimler remained with Mildred until being purchased by our vendors' late husband in 1996. Our vendors' husband then lavished thousands of hours of time maintaining the Daimler until 2016 when he was unable to drive the car any longer. There are numerous receipts on file for thousands of pounds including a re-spray, the fitting of chrome wire wheels, engine refurbishment, brake overhaul and numerous other items. Finished in a beautiful colour combination of opalescent silver blue with a maroon leather interior. This automatic matching numbers V8 250 was unused between 2016 and July this year when the Daimler was serviced with new ignition components, a battery and returned to the road. This low ownership and mileage Daimler will be offered with a history file containing original owners manuals, receipts including the recent service bill for £719.81, previous MOTs and photographs. V5C, MOT and tax-exempt See illustrations

1961 Triumph TR3A - CHARTERHOUSE AUCTIONEERS Classic & Vintage Cars Wednesday 11th September 2019 Royal Bath & West Showground

FEATURED AUCTION

CHARTERHOUSE AUCTIONEERS
Classic & Vintage Cars
Wednesday 11th September 2019
Royal Bath & West Showground

1961 Triumph TR3A

Chassis No; TS75124

A 1961 Triumph TR3A, unregistered, chassis number TS75124, black. The TR3A with its rugged and handsome good looks featured the wider front grille to aid cooling became available in 1957/58. The styling would remain little changed with only minor revisions until the Giovanni Michelotti designed TR4 became available in 1961.
This RHD example was exported to South Africa as part of Britain’s drive to earn much-needed revenue. Our vendor has a home in South Africa where he purchased the car in restored condition and he used the Triumph there before repatriating it a few years ago.
The TR3A still presents very well with Black coachwork, matching weather gear, maroon leather interior and painted wire wheels. Our vendor describes the Triumph as a rust-free example in good condition in all respects and driving well. The car has not been registered with DVLA but all duties have been paid and all VOSA documentation is available to facilitate a smooth transaction. This charming restored TR3A now offers an economic alternative to more expensive Jaguar and Austin Healey contemporaries.
Unregistered, MOT and tax-exempt See illustrations

All lots in this sale are sold as-is and bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. Please read our terms and conditions.

1964 Commer Cob 7cwt Series III Van - CHARTERHOUSE AUCTIONEERS Classic & Vintage Cars Wednesday, September 11th Royal Bath & West Showground

FEATURED AUCTION

CHARTERHOUSE AUCTIONEERS
Classic & Vintage Cars
Wednesday 11th September 2019
Royal Bath & West Showground

1964 Commer Cob 7cwt Series III Van

A 1964 Commer Cob 7cwt Series III van, registration number 978 TTA, chassis number B631888, engine number B631888, azure blue.

The Commer Cob a Rootes Group model was a panel van based on the Hillman Husky estate. The first version of the lightweight commercial appeared in the 1950s. The Cob saw a steady development over its production with improvements to the engine, seating and bodywork through Series I II & III. This charming Series III Cob was originally supplied by Blue Star Garages Ltd, Axminster, Devon to its first owner a Mr W Newbury, a farmer from Colyton, Devon. The original order form is on file stating that Mr Newbury paid £452.8.2 plus an allowance of £20 for a part exchange. Mr Newbury retained the car for twenty years adding 20,000 miles to the odometer using the van to transport the odd calf to Axminster market. Mr Newbury’s daughter and son in law then owned the Cob for a short period before part-exchanging it. The next custodian added a further 20,000 miles on the clock until our vendor's father purchased the van in 2005 with 42,000 on the odometer. The Cob had been in storage for six or so years and required some recommissioning and repairs but was soon back on the road. Over the next 14 years, the van was steadily improved but still retains an honest and genuine appearance which has been admired at local classic car events. Now displaying a believed 55,000 miles from new this refreshingly original Cob will be offered for auction with a history file containing an original owners instruction manual, a run of previous MOTs, tax discs, receipts and the original order form.
