FEATURED AUCTION

SOUTH WEST VEHICLE AUCTIONS
Kinson Pottery Trading Estate, 61 Ringwood Road,
Parkstone, Poole, Dorset, BH14 0RG
Friday 25th January 2019

1966 JENSEN CV8 MkIII
Registration No: GAT 166D
Chassis No: 1122429
Engine No: 435/12A
Estimate: No Reserve

This car has very low ownership. The old registration documents show that on 29/8/69 the car was registered to Ablon Industries Plating Co. Ltd. The company is owned by Mr Davidson which indicates to us that the car has only had 4 registered keepers, the 3rd and fourth owners are the same person. In the file, you will find 2 old green logbooks, an original old V5, correspondence with the DVLA for a new V5C, handbook and instruction book, wiring diagrams plus other handbooks and instruction books.
Auctioneers Notes: This is a once in a lifetime opportunity of obtaining an iconic British Sports Car. She looks as if the driver got out of the car and intended to use it tomorrow, but, in fact, she has been in dry storage for years and years. She is completely original, carpets, over mats, leather upholstery. She has one unique feature, adjustable suspension from inside the cabin. Under the bonnet you will find a 6000 cc plus V8 engine – this must give a hell of a lot of grunt! Serious Buyers, please make an appointment and look.

FEATURED AUCTION

SOUTH WEST VEHICLE AUCTIONS

Friday 25th January 2019

1975 JENSEN GT SHOOTING BRAKE
Registration No: DSC 543P
Chassis No: 30055
Engine No: A741210481

Rare original UK supplied RHD Jensen GT Shooting brake, 2.0 lotus engine – one of only 234 made and one of four made in Jensen Silver. Recent ground up restoration – receipts for £000’s – bare metal respray, full stainless steel (including manifold) specialist performance exhaust, full interior and engine overhaul, refurbed original alloys, rare black corduroy and ambla interior, MOT to Aug 2019.
Auctioneers note: This beautiful car has recently had, we are told, a total restoration.  The service file, which is full of invoices for the work carried out, amounts in money to thousands of pounds, including one invoice for the re-painting of the car for £3,120.  In its files, there is a nine-page review which looks at the Jensen GT, written by the well-known and respected author Richard Calver.  It makes fascinating reading and it is worth pointing out that originally they were thinking of putting a Vauxhall engine into this car, but they could not get enough power into it, so they ended up putting in the Lotus 2 lit engine they used in the Jensen Healey.  These engines produce 144 BHP giving a 0 – 60 in 8.7 sec.  As mentioned before they are only 218 RHD cars made in a total production run from October ’75 – May ’76 when Jensen’s went into liquidation.  She comes with an MOT expiring on 13.8.19, also handy to have is the original Owners Handbook and Service Book (no stamps) and a copy of “Auto Car” dated 10.1.76 when they fully road tested the GT.  She has an old V5 and I can only say she is a cracking car. May be viewed, by appointment.
