With Austin and Morris both being part of BMC, the Minor-based Morris commercials were also marketed as the Austin 6cwt and Austin 8cwt with a closed van and open pick-up versions.
They were designed for commercial use with small businesses in mind, although many made their way to larger corporations. The van version was popular with the Post Office, with both the van and the pick-up differing from the monocoque construction of the Saloon and Traveller variant by having a separate chassis. They also differed in details such as telescopic rear dampers, stiffer rear leaf springs and lower ratio differentials to cope with the heavier loads.

This Austin Morris Pick-up is presented in blue with black trim and was the project of our vendor, he wanted a fun yet practical vehicle and the result is more fun than you can shake a stick at with the ability to still load the rear with the farm's hay! The engine has been replaced with a 1340cc unit including fast road cam and a large single SU carburettor, this combined to a tubular exhaust system and a 3.77:1 differential turns this mundane looking utility vehicle to a road going hooligan. Due to the added power and speed, the front brakes were upgraded to disc brakes and the whole car painted and trimmed well. Although well loved by our vendor he now requires something larger... perhaps a fast road Transit is next! Supplied with a V5C registration document, this Austin badged pick-up is rare and offered for sale without reserve.
