1999 AC SUPER BLOWER

NUMBER 9 OF 18. 2000 MILES FROM NEW

AC has thirty-six years association with the Superblower and its illustrious predecessor, the Cobra – one of the best-known models in the lexicon of classic sports cars. The Cobra is a by-word for fast, muscular motoring and for many years in its original guise was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the World’s fastest production car. Now in its latest reincarnation, the AC Superblower – powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine – still combines mighty power with unique and distinctive body styling.
Conceived more than 40 years ago from the original AC Ace, the all-aluminium body continues to be handcrafted using the original tooling and retains the enduring good looks which have found it favour with a loyal circle of driving enthusiasts around the world.
The Superblower’s interior is trimmed with finest English leather and deep pile wool carpeting. Superblower motoring has more to do with muscle-power than creature comfort, however. When the Cobra was originally conceived it developed a well-earned reputation for delivering the ultimate in performance.
Today’s Superblower has maintained that reputation, and – through the introduction of supercharging – has restored this motoring icons extremes of power, putting 320 entirely useable bhp at the driver’s disposal. Top speed is 155 mph and the Superblower delivers a 0-60 mph time of a blistering 4.2 seconds.
Here we have a very rare specimen indeed: not a yellow submarine but the next best thing; a yellow AC Cobra in a high specification with virtually every conceivable option ordered from the factory with just 2000 miles from registration. With full-service history, off the chart performance and very low ownership, this car must be one of the lowest mileage in existence. Car number 9 of 18.
