1952 PORSCHE 356 PRE A
Porsche’s Type 356, introduced in 1948, is acknowledged to be one of the world’s great sports cars and in 1951 an aluminium-bodied works car finished first in the 1,100cc class at the Le Mans 24-Hour Race and 20th overall, thus beginning the marque’s long and illustrious association with La Sarthe.
Over a 15-year production run, the handsome and durable 356 evolved from a streamlined little aluminium-bodied coupe powered by a VW-derived, 46bhp 1,100cc air-cooled flat-four to a powerful autobahn burner carrying a complex, two-litre four-cam boxer Carrera engine of 130bhp. Its development brought not only coupes but luxurious cabriolets and more spartan speedsters and roadsters.
This wonderful early Pre-A Coupe was manufactured in 1952 destined for the newly emerging market of the United States. Delivered to its lucky first owner in January of 1953, the 356 was repatriated to the German around 10 years ago. In current ownership the 356 has been extensively restored to a high standard, having covered only a handful of kilometres since being returned to the road. Finished in Modegrau (Fashion Grey) with a beautiful Bordeaux red leather interior, and offered with German registration papers and an extensive valuation report, this is an excellent example of arguably the prettiest of Porsche designs from the last 60 or so years.

1963 PORSCHE 356C COUPE
Introduced in 1948, the Porsche Type 356 is acknowledged to be one of the world’s greatest sports cars. Over a 15-year production run, the handsome and durable 356 evolved from a streamlined little aluminium-bodied coupe powered by a VW-derived, 46bhp, 1,100cc air-cooled flat-four to a powerful autobahn burner with a 130bhp, 2-litre 4-cam boxer Carrera engine. Overt time came coupes, luxurious cabriolets and more spartan Speedsters and Roadsters, and more than 76,000 were built by the time production ceased in 1965.
By the time the 356B arrived in September 1959, Porsche’s first sports car had gained a one-piece rounded windscreen and 15-inch wheels, along with further styling revisions and a 1,600cc engine. Outwardly very similar to the final 356B, the ultimate 356C model arrived in 1963 sporting disc brakes all round (first seen on the 2-litre Carrera 2), a new ZF steering gear and a compensating spring at the rear to calm the swing axle rear suspension. Engine options were the 75bhp ‘C’ and the 95bhp ‘SC’, both 1,600cc, the latter replacing the Super 90 model.
The 356C offered here is the 1.6-litre engine with 75bhp, it will come with the original steel rims complete with hub caps and with the Fuchs rims mounted. The vehicle was a German delivery and German registration and vehicle documents are present. This car is a matching numbers vehicle with German H-plates. The Porsche certificate is supplied with the vehicle. An ADAC vintage car expertise evaluation from 2011 notes the car with a condition of 2+. The interesting history and large amount spent on the car during it’s US restoration make it worthy for consideration to any shrewd enthusiast in time for Summer.

1989 MASERATI BI-TURBO SPYDER - COYS AUCTIONS Saturday 3rd August 2019 Schloss Dyck, 41363 Jüchen, Germany

FEATURED AUCTION

COYS AUCTIONS
Saturday 3rd August 2019
Schloss Dyck, 41363 Jüchen, Germany

1989 MASERATI BI-TURBO SPYDER
The Bi-Turbo was initially a strong seller and brought Italian prestige to a wide audience and competed (unsuccessfully) in the British Touring Car Championship in the late 1980s, the European Touring Car Championship and the 1987 World Touring Car Championship. The Spyder version was introduced at the Turin Motor Show in 1984 and was designed and built by the world-class designers, Zagato. Overall 3,076 were built over a ten year period, setting a production record for Maserati Spyders.
Attractively finished in black with a light grey leather and Alcantara interior, this later 1989 example still wears its original first paint, and is offered with a comprehensive history file and the associated service records. With just 60,000 kilometres from new, the Spider offers true supercar performance and sharp 80s looks – a fabulous option for Italian sportscar fans.
