TODAY WE FEATURE

RICHARD EDMONDS AUCTIONS
Allington, near Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN14 6LJ
SATURDAY 7th JULY 2018

1965 FRANCIS BARNETT 250cc
Reg. no. DHW 945C

Frame no. FH17238
Engine no. 688E 270

As a 1965 model, this Francis Barnett is one of the last in a long line of motorcycles, produced as affordable and highly usable machines. They began as so many did between the wars, using 2-stroke Villiers engines, including a 250cc Cruiser. Post-WWII AMC took Francis Barnett over and combined it with James. This 250cc appears to be in very good all round condition, having been restored at some stage. Although an electric start and period-looking indicators have been fitted, this appears to be an otherwise very original machine. We are told that all MOT certificates are in the file back to 1983, in addition to the original workshop manual and an instruction book. There is also a current V5c.

Extra details and estimates:

£1,500 - 2,000
