BARONS CLASSIC CAR AUCTIONS
Sandown Park Race Course, Esher KT10 9AJ
Tuesday 5th June 2018

1969 DAIMLER V8 250
Registration No: AMV 821H
Chassis No: 7K 5763BW

The Daimler 2.5 V8 was launched late in 1962. It was essentially a re-badged Jaguar Mark 2 fitted with Daimler's 2.5-litre V8 engine and drive-train, a Daimler fluted grille and rear number plate surround, distinctive wheel trims, badges, and interior details including a split-bench front seat from the Jaguar Mark 1 and a black enamel steering wheel. Special interior and exterior colours were specified. Most cars were fitted with power-assisted steering but it was optional. The automatic transmission was standard; manual, with or without overdrive, became an option in 1967.
This is a 1969 Daimler 250 V8 in light blue with blue leather interior and lots of wood. It is an older restoration which has settled down into well kept middle age. The bodywork and chrome are in good condition, with only a few scuffs and imperfections as you would expect. Mechanically it is in great condition, it really drives well and it has just had a full brake system overhaul with the original callipers being refurbished, new hoses, pipes and master cylinder with an invoice for £2,500, including service and check over.
The car is a very usable example with only a couple of issues that need sorting out, the heater fan only blows on one setting and the radio doesn't work. This car has a lot of history and has had a lot of money spent on it. There are receipts for over £20,000 over the years with invoices and MOTs for proof.
The vendor has owned this superb car since May 2002 and has enjoyed driving it. He loves the car, but due to family commitments it just doesn't get the use it deserves, the car has done less than 2,000 miles since 2007, so reluctantly it's time to say goodbye.
