1996 BMW 840Ci
Chassis No: N903 BNU
Chassis No: WBAEF82090CC66020
Engine No: 52661230
Estimate: £11,000- £16,000

he Klaus Kapitza designed 8 Series was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989. Although it effectively replaced the 6 Series, it was originally intended as an additional model line; an upmarket range with superior performance and a price tag to match. During its ten year reign, the 8 Series was offered in 830i, 840Ci and 850i/Ci form. When introduced in mid-1993, it was fitted with a four litre, V8 engine mated to either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. With 282bhp on tap, this version could achieve the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 6.9 seconds. Over 1.5 billion Deutsche Marks are said to have been spent on the car's design and development and at the time it felt like a glimpse into the future with its angular styling.
Low mileage 8 series BMW's in fine order are becoming ever harder to find with collectors and enthusiasts seeking out those rare examples or diamonds in the rough. This exceptional example of the 840Ci is presented in metallic silver with an extremely well kept grey leather interior and has covered a mere 73,000 miles from new, which is 8 series terms is barely out of the factory! Having been owned and cherished by the same keeper for the past 12 years, this BMW boasts a comprehensive service file including an original service booklet stamped exclusively by BMW main agents until 61,028 miles. If the new owner takes this impressive example to BMW for its new service, they can continue the full BMW service history. The fuel lines have been replaced and new brakes fitted together with a four wheel alignment to the refurbished split rim alloy wheels. Importantly we are informed that every button works on this BMW and that the underside is almost as impressive as the coachwork. A full book pack is present and includes a new MoT test certificate and many past MoT test certificates. A rare find with low mileage and in exceptional condition - we think this is sure to attract significantly
