LOT 131: 1938 AUSTIN 6 Fully Restored
Estimated Value : £14,000 – £16,000
This beautiful 1938 Austin is the product of one mans dream in his later years, to recreate the very first new car he owned. With money not being an issue, this is the result.
Unfortunately as is so often the case, soon after being finished ill health and age caught up with him and he was unable to drive it more than a handful of times, before eventually passing away.
Now after much thought, his surviving family have asked us to offer it for auction with a reserve set at a fraction of the £37,000 pounds they say he spent on his dream!
Pictured here having just been pulled from long-term residency in its garage, the family have asked a good friend and mechanic to check the engine over prior to attempting to start and run it, we will update on this as we go. Either way, after so little use and having been stored for so long, an amount of recommissioning should be expected.
