The Morris Minor was a British economy car that debuted at the Earl's Court Motor Show on 20th September 1948. Designed under the leadership of Alec Issigonis, over 1.3 million examples were manufactured from 1948 to 1971. Initially available as a two-door saloon and convertible, the range was subsequently expanded to include a four-door saloon in 1950 and a wood-framed estate, the Traveller, plus the panel van and pick-up truck variants in 1952.
This example was initially dispatched from the factory to Scotland Yard and is no less than a deluxe model. Not only distinctive because of the livery, it is in exceptional condition. Quite recently, the vehicle has been treated to a bare shell restoration; the details for this are provided along with vast amount of paperwork kept in chronological order by the previous owner who had the car for some nineteen years. Present is a linen look headliner for access to mount the police roof box; it is currently un-mounted to give the new owner the opportunity to mount it with magnets.

The 1098cc engine starts immediately and runs smoothly. We are advised she drives well and is supplied with a V5 registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until September 2016 and a history file including a list of all previous owners' names and the time they kept the vehicle. With a heritage certificate present as proof of the provenance, this is a Morris Minor that will create interest wherever she appears for more reasons than one!
