1988 BMW M3 EVO II
The E30 M3 was the first purpose built saloon produced by BMW as a racing homologation special by BMW's in-house Motorsport division. Introduced in 1986 as a road car, it dominated Touring Car racing throughout the World taking countless titles including the prestigious German, Australian and British titles, not to mention the World Touring Car Championship in 1987. To comply with DTM homologation rules, a minimum of 500 M3s had to be built and sold to the public that retained all of the aerodynamic features of the racing car.

The BMW M3 Evolution II was the closest road experience to a 'Group A' racing-car in 1988. The 'Evo II' had many differences compared to a normal specification M3. The engine itself received a slight increase in power thanks to a new camshaft, pistons and intake system. To lighten the car, the flywheel, bootlid, windows and bumpers were reduced in weight. Such modifications made the car quicker and more agile compared to the standard M3. Of the 17,000 M3s produced, only 500 Evo IIs left the factory, making this example one of the most desirable 1980s homologation specials in today's market.

Chassis number 2191493 was first sold new on 6th June 1988 by BMW Munich. In 1990, it was purchased by the second owner, who resided in Nice. The car remained on the Riviera until it was found by the third and current owner. The original service book shows a total of 18 stamps in the book and the original wallet is also in the file. The speedo was changed at 125,000 kms, which is fully documented in the history and the total mileage of the car is 147,000 kms or 91,000 miles.

Bills and receipts show numerous works have been carried out over the years and three years ago, this M3 was professionally re-sprayed in its original colour of Nogaro Silver. The quality of this work was clearly excellent as the bodywork is still in superb condition. Supplied with new tyres, a fresh MoT and January 2015 service by main dealer BMW Watford, this 80's icon is ready to be used and enjoyed by its next owner.
