The Bedford CA was a distinctive pug-nosed light commercial vehicle produced between 1952 and 1969 by Bedford in Luton, United Kingdom.

It was manufactured in short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase forms, each form available in either a 10-12 cwt or a 15 cwt version.

Generally, it was supplied as a light delivery van with sliding doors, but it was also available as a chassis with cowl upon which specialist bodywork could be added. The Bedford Dormobile was a Campervan conversion based on the Bedford CA van.

In its day, the vehicle was ubiquitous; the Ford Transit of its time. These vehicles are now extremely rare.

The CA was also exported to Canada and sold as the Envoy CA, as part of the Envoy brand line-up.

1978 FORD FIESTA 950cc

Registration No: Un-Reg
Chassis No: BAFBUM58259
Location: Warwickshire

- 141 miles from new

- Never registered and displayed/stored at The Science Museum in London from 1980-2017

- Highly original and authentic, go find another!

Perhaps the lowest mileage Ford Fiesta MKI extant, chassis BAFBUM58259 was manufactured in July 1978 and supplied new to Ford Personal Import / Export Ltd of 8 Balderton Street, London W1. Better known for selling 'Fords from abroad', the London dealership had yet to register the Fiesta for road use when The Science Museum acquired it during 1980. Featured within the Glimpses of Medical History gallery as part of a diorama showing assistive technology for helping an elderly person in and out of a car, the three-door hatchback remained on display until 2015 when the floor housing it was closed for refurbishment.

The installation of new freight lifts with narrower doors meant that the Ford faced being cut-up to facilitate its removal from The Science Museum. Thankfully, Darren Wisdom who was working on site in 2017 intervened and saved the timewarp hatchback by constructing a special jig which allowed it to be rotated through ninety degrees and brought down to ground level (albeit with the drivetrain and interior removed to save weight). Recommissioned by Mr Wisdom with attention paid to its cooling system, brakes and gearbox etc, the Ford passed its first MOT test on 19th April 2018. Inspected by Paul Kingham of the Ford GT Historic Register a month later his conclusions were as follows:

'I can confirm that all key aspects of the vehicle are authentic and original including chassis, suspension, steering, transmission, matching original engine and even its paintwork. This vehicle has never previously been the UK registered due to it being displayed/stored at the Museum since 1980 when they received delivery from the manufacturer's showroom and is still in remarkably pristine 'as new' condition with effectively just its original delivery mileage recorded'

A copy sale receipt on file indicates that Mr Wisdom sold the Ford to Mr Richard Jordan for £11,550 on 29th June 2018. Entering the current ownership later that same year, this remarkable MKI Fiesta now shows just 141 miles to its odometer. A fabulous opportunity for Blue Oval enthusiasts everywhere.

1967 ROVER P5 3-LITRE MkIII

Registration No: WGU207F
Chassis No:80500536A
Location: North Yorkshire

- 1 of just 2,501 made and credible 47,000 recorded miles

- Engine overhauled (2000), LPG conversion (2009), Kenlowe fan, halogen headlights etc

- Original order form (£1999 19s 6d), Webasto roof from new, original Cream leather trim

Further Information:

Introduced in 1965, the updated Rover P5 3-Litre MKIII was visually distinguished by a subtler front grille and full-length chrome side mouldings. Utilising the same underpinnings and sheetmetal as its MKII predecessor but boasting more horsepower (134bhp), the newcomer offered a similarly cosseting driving experience. Benefiting from the adoption of reclining front seats and a more sculpted rear bench, the model was again available in saloon or coupe guises (the latter sporting a lower roofline). Only in production for two years, just 2,501 MKIII Coupes are thought to have been made.

This particular example shows just two former keepers on its V5C Registration Document. Supplied new to Hicklin & Hicklin, Surveyors, Auctioneers, Valuers and Estate Agents, of Beckenham Kent and initially road registered as 'PPA 2', the Rover was subject to a wealth of correspondence in its early years between South London Motors Ltd, The Rover Company Ltd, the RAC and the aforementioned Hicklins all of which is documented in the accompanying history file. Treated to a thorough engine overhaul by Ottringham Garage in 1999-2000 (new pistons, main / big-end bearings, oil pump gears, timing chain / tensioner, unleaded cylinder head conversion), the P5 was entrusted to Chelmsford Autogas Ltd for a professional LPG conversion some nine years later. Further upgraded with a Kenlowe fan, K&N air filter and halogen headlights, the MKIII Coupe was proudly displayed on the Marauder Drivers' Club stand at the 2014 NEC Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show.

Starting readily upon inspection, 'WGU 207F' has been used by the vendor for a number of tours during which its low running costs on LPG, effective heater, working Webasto sunroof and long-legged four-speed manual plus overdrive transmission have all proven their worth. Pleasingly retaining its original Cream leather upholstery, the Rover is believed but not warranted to have covered some 47,000 miles from new. Offered for sale with UK V5C Registration Document, history file, owner's maintenance manual, original order form and first tax disc etc.
