1961 MORRIS MINI MINOR
Registration No: WSL 757
Estimate: £17,000 - £20,000

On its introduction in August 1959, the Mini was marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini-Minor. The Austin Seven was renamed Austin Mini in January 1962 and Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. The early Mini’s have become particularly sought after with early examples difficult to find in original condition.
This superb example of the early floor start Morris Mini is showing a remarkable 6,700 miles on the odometer having spent a vast majority of its life in storage. Owned by an elderly lady from new it was used for short runs to the shops before being consigned to her garage when she was no longer able to drive. It is said that she bequeathed the car to her builder in the 90’s in lieu of payment for some work carried out as he wanted to restore the car.
Unfortunately, the gentleman fell ill and it remained in his garage until the current owner purchased the car in 2015.
The owner then set about a complete bare metal documented restoration by professional restoration business while maintaining many original features. The engine and gearbox have been rebuilt while the interior remains original. An exceptionally rare find and a truly wonderful piece of British motoring history, this car is well worth a look.

1955 MORRIS MINOR CONVERTIBLE - COYS AUCTIONS Saturday 3rd August 2019 Schloss Dyck, 41363 Jüchen, Germany

FEATURED AUCTION

COYS AUCTIONS
Saturday 3rd August 2019
Schloss Dyck, 41363 Jüchen, Germany

1955 MORRIS MINOR CONVERTIBLE
Registration No: EU Registered
Chassis No: 21351516

The Minor came in several variants including two and four-door saloons, a wood-framed Traveller estate, a panel van and a pick-up. Most glamorous and sought-after of all was the convertible Tourer model which offered top-down motoring at a budget price. All models were gradually but subtly improved over time, gaining a one-piece windscreen, better heating and an engine that grew from a 27bhp 918cc sidevalve unit to a 1098cc ohv unit that produced 47bhp and could propel the car to a top speed of 77mph.
This bright little Morris Minor Convertible was first registered in July of 1955, an early split-window version of the car. The Morris enjoyed a restoration in 2016 and is now presented in good condition in all respects, finished in black with red wings to the front and rear, and an interior which has been retrimmed in red. Morris Minors are huge fun to own and drive, and we are sure this charming example will bring much enjoyment for its next owner.

FEATURED AUCTION

SOUTHWESTERN VEHICLE AUCTIONS
Friday 26th July 2019
Kinson Pottery Trading Estate
61 Ringwood Road,
Parkstone, Poole,
Dorset, BH14 0RG

1952 MORRIS MINOR CONVERTIBLE
During the vendor’s tenure over the past 18 months, this Morris Minor has had a good deal of time and money lavished on her including; a complete new wiring loom, points, plugs, distributor cap, 20/50 oil and filters, rear drop links, front kingpins and trunnions, brake shoes and drums and a plethora of brand new chrome. The original side-valve engine was replaced with an ‘A’ series 948 OHV engine which has good oil pressure at 40PSI at idle and 60 PSI when on the move. The vendor was keen to retain the original trafficators but found that modern drivers under the age of 50 had no idea what they are so indicator lights were installed which run in tandem with the trafficators to avoid accidents. The front indicators have been placed where the original sidelights were and the headlight units replaced with integral sidelights. The interior has been refurbished with beautiful red leather to the original pattern.
Auctioneers Notes
This is a smashing split-screen Minor – I think, the 1000 cc OHVengine, without a doubt, will improve her driveability of this 67-year-old car.  Please ring and make an appointment to view
