1989 LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH
25th Anniversary Edition

Chassis NumberKLA12846
Engine Number12846
Odometer reading27,500 miles
Estimate£190,000 - £240,000
The more traditionally beautiful sibling, the Miura, started the whole supercar genre and, whilst the 1980s arrived and the supercar evolved, the title transferred to the Lamborghini Countach. Immediately an automotive icon, as daring and eye-catching today as it was in its prime it, understandably, quickly adorned bedroom walls across the world.
Like the Miura, the Countach blended a quad-cam, V12 engine with futuristic Marcello Gandini styling, this time incorporating its own unique 'Gull-wing' doors that opened vertically. Claims of it being the fastest production car in the world with a totally impractical interior, windows that could only open a few inches and minimal rearward visibility just added to the mystique and poster appeal of the new car. The second edition was named to honour the company's twenty-fifth anniversary in 1988, the 25th Anniversary Countach; although mechanically very similar to the 5000QV, sported considerable restyling and possibly the fastest edition of the model with 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds and 183mph flat out.

Delivered originally to Portman Lamborghini UK and delivered new in December 1989, this right-hand drive example represents one of only 658 built in this 25th Anniversary specification. First registered in 1989, this car has covered just 27,500 miles and is in pristine condition, both inside and out. Looking particularly handsome in black, the Anniversary edition's styling updates were created by one Horacio Pagani, now somewhat more famous for his very own hypercar, the Pagani Zonda.

To bring the interior of this Countach into line with the very high standard of exterior, the vendor recently commissioned the re-upholstery of the cream leather seats with black piping. The facia, steering wheel, carpets and even the open gate for the gear-lever are also in black, lending the cabin a chic, laid-back feel.
Any sense of tranquillity is, of course, annihilated when you fire up the 5.2 litre, V12 engine that sits just behind the seats. Refreshingly old school in sound and temperament, it retains sufficient snarling energy to catapult the Countach from standstill to 60mph in 4.8 seconds and thrust it on to a top speed of 190mph. A sparkling example of one of the world's most famous classic supercars, this Countach Anniversary has excellent investment potential as well as planetary kerbside appeal.

The Renault Dauphine is a rear-engine economy car manufactured from 1956 until 1967 with over two million units sold worldwide. Along with such cars as the Volkswagen Beetle, Morris Minor and Fiat 500, the Dauphine pioneered the modern European economy car. Renault marketed variants of the Dauphine including a sport model, the Gordini, a luxury version, the Ondine, the 1093 factory racing model and the Caravelle/Floride, a Dauphine-based two-door convertible. Renault manufactured the Dauphine at its Flins factory with a car leaving the assembly line every 20-30 seconds and with engines supplied from the company's headquarters factory in Billancourt, Paris which could produce an engine every 28 seconds.

The first generation Range Rover was produced between 1970 and 1996 and while certainly up-market compared to preceding Land Rover models, was not designed as a luxury-type 4x4; the early Range Rovers had basic, utilitarian interiors with vinyl seats and plastic dashboards designed to be washed down with a hose. Features such as power-assisted steering, carpeted floors, air-conditioning, cloth/leather seats and wooden interior trim were fitted later. The Range Rover was a body-on-frame design with a box section ladder type chassis, similar to contemporary Land Rovers. The original Range Rover utilised coil springs as opposed to leaf springs, permanent four-wheel drive and four-wheel disc brakes and was originally powered by the Rover V8 engine.

This early two-door version of the iconic British 4X4 has had its Rover V8 engine converted to  the gas OMVL system and benefits from a  factory fitted overdrive unit for economical touring. Although this is really a restoration project, the interior grey velour is in good order.  Presented in red, this surely is a great project for those wanting a true blue-blooded 4X4 which would once again be the luxury workhorse it once was.

Odometer reading4,049 miles
Estimate£11,000 - £16,000
The UK Lambretta importer experimented with the idea of producing a microcar using a Lambretta engine and was once owned by the renowned Lambretta enthusiast and writer,  Mike Webster. This example is the prototype of which production did not take place because, it is believed, handling was not good due to the long frontal overhang. The front two wheels were located halfway along the body and there was no way its road manners could be significantly improved with such a design. It is also alleged that the car was designed to be used as a runabout in Bermuda with a speed limit of 30mph. Certainly there is no evidence of any side screens for the Mink although there is a folding top so perhaps this was to keep the sun off rather than the rain.

The car was undoubtedly professionally trimmed out and its prototype status is confirmed by the fact that there are at least three different wheel arch profiles visible on the inside of the wheel arches on the fibreglass. The desirable SX200cc Lambretta engine which is currently  fitted would undoubtedly have been able to propel the car up about 70mph. Other unusual features were a 12 volt electrical system with a dynastart mounted above the engine and driving via a 'V' belt onto the crank shaft fly wheel. Braking is hydraulic on the front wheels and hydraulic/mechanical on the rear wheel with a conventional cable operated handbrake on the rear wheel only. This car also comes with a metal frame and soft top plus a full tonneau cover  An interesting vehicle which could be immense fun on the road.
