1988 NISSAN PRESIDENT SOVEREIGN
Registration No: E962 WCL
Chassis No: H252015972
Engine No: Y44057406
Estimate: No Reserve

  • Very rare example
  • Extremely well appointed
The Nissan President was a luxury limousine produced by Nissan from 1965 to 2010. The car was mainly used by corporate executives and government officials. It was a luxury saloon specifically aimed at the Japanese market, where its main competitor was the Toyota Century. The President was the flagship limousine and was sold at Nissan Motor store dealerships. Exports began to a few countries including Singapore and Hong Kong, though sales were limited. A North American version (called the Infiniti Q45) was produced from 1990 to 1996 and subsequently 2001 to 2006. The President was replaced by the Nissan Fuga in August 2010. When the President was introduced in 1965, it wore the ‘Nissan’ badge unlike other Nissan products at the time which were labelled Datsun. A variety of different trim levels were offered, which included a base 3.0-litre straight-six and a number of interior options. The one to have was the top-of-the-line Nissan President Sovereign V8. This meant a 4.4 litre overhead valve V8 lived under the hood and put 200 horsepower to the ground through a three-speed automatic transmission.

This Nissan is extremely well appointed and it is easy to see why these flagship Nissans were used by government ministers and VIPs. This example is thought to have been used by the Japanese ambassador in Melbourne. The button cushioned seats are electrically operated even in the rear and ample legroom is available. The 4400cc V8 engine is extremely smooth in operation and responsive in action although it should be stated this car is built for a comfortable and not a sporty ride. This luxury Nissan needs to be viewed to be fully appreciated.

2011 PIAGGIO VESPA PX 125

Registration: LY11 BGO
Chassis No: ZAPM7410000001307
Engine No: M741M0001680
Estimate: No Reserve

he Vespa has evolved from a single model motor scooter manufactured in 1946 by Piaggio & Co. of Pontedera, Italy. Designed by Renzo Spolti and Vittorio Casini and known as the MP5 (Moto Piaggio no.5). From its inception the Vespa scooter has been known for its painted, pressed steel unibody, which combines a complete cowling for the engine, a flat floorboard and a prominent front fairing. Upon seeing this new design for the first time, Enrico Piaggio exclaimed ‘Sembra una Vespa!’ (it resembles a wasp). The new scooter had been named. This iconic design has featured in displays at the Guggenheim in New York and the Pompidou centre in Paris.
This scooter evokes the heady, sharp suited, days of the 60’s Mod era. This scooter has been wrapped to give a chrome effect and fitted with the mirrors and flag detailing of a classic Brighton cruiser. We are informed by the vendor that this Vespa featured in Episode Two of the first series of the Simon Callow television drama, The Rebel. We are advised by the vendor that this scooter is listed as a category C insurance loss. There is no better way to take a trip down memory lane than on this modern version of a motoring and design icon

1930 CHRYSLER 77 ROADSTER
 - only known example in the Uk

Reg. no. GN 4584

Chassis no. JP 3935
Engine no. W 11345

The series 77 featured a 4 1/4 litre engine coupled to a four speed \'multi-range\' gearbox and there were 1,729 cars built. The L-head six-cylinder engine, was capable of producing 93 horsepower and there are four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes all round.
Part of Chrysler\'s success was their racing pedigree. Their cars appeared at Le Mans, Spa and in the Mille Miglia from 1924. In 1930, two model 77 Roadster raced at Spa in Belgium. A Chrysler driven by Stoffel and De Costier finished 5th behind three Alfas and a Bugatti.

This car was bought new from Chrysler Motors, Great Portland Street, London by Mr R.A.B. Shaw, a London barrister and then used by him until 1968. Although it is a 1930 model, it was not registered until early 1931 as it had been a demonstrator for Chrysler Motors. The current owner purchased the car in 1969 from Mr Shaw and he then used it until 1978, when, \'in a weak moment\' (his words) he sold it to a friend in order to buy an 8-cylinder coupe. He immediately regretted selling the car, missing the \'sportiness and performance of the 77 Roadster\'. It took until 1994 to get the 77 back and our vendor has enjoyed it ever since. We are told that this is the only 77 Roadster in the UK and probably the only one in Europe. In 2008 the car was extensively restored and it has covered approximately 12,000 miles since. This original RHD car has now been converted to a 12v system.

Our vendor describes this Chrysler as \'a fast and reliable touring car\'; now finished in an original colour scheme of \'cats eye green\' and black, this car is fitted with full weather equipment and ready for use. It is offered with its original buff logbook and its original instruction book, in addition to a V5c and a selection of bills going back to the 1940s, one of which is a bill for an engine rebuild in 1950 at a cost of £51!

Extra details and estimates:

£48,000 - 50,000

1924 AMILCAR CC

Reg. no. BF 8306
Chassis no. 4876
Engine no. 4886

In the few years immediately following the First World War, small cars were immensely popular in France – ravaged by war, much of France’s effort was going into reconstruction, and thus small, economical cars were just what was required to minimise the use of precious resources. In fact, the government offered incentives – any car under 350kg in weight, with an engine capacity of no more than 1100cc, was officially designated a cyclecar and was subject to a reduced tax rate of 100 Francs per year. In 1921, the Amilcar company was formed in Paris and delved into this market, launching in 1922 the CC, with an engine of just 903cc and a weight of 350kg. The car proved very successful and later formed the basis for sports models such as the CGS. Testimony to the car’s good design was the fact that it found an enthusiastic buying public not only in France, but also abroad where cyclecars were otherwise uncommon.
This particular CC was found in a derelict state in South Australia; the vendor acquired the car and commenced a full restoration in 2009, including the construction of a new body copied from an original car. The chassis and engine were also thoroughly restored, and the car was then imported to the UK in 2013. Registered and running, the car is in good all-round condition and comes with a V5c and bills.

Extra details and estimates:

£15,000 - 20,000
